How long does it take to register a Lasting Power of Attorney?

Modified on Fri, 21 Oct, 2022 at 1:27 PM

Once you have made your Lasting Power of Attorney and sent it off to the Court to be registered, it can take quite a while to get the registered document back from the Court – depending on how busy they are. This could be around 20 weeks. If you lose capacity in the meantime, the document will still be valid – your Attorneys just won’t be able to use it until it is returned by the Court.
